Blender add-on · 5.2 LTS
Procedural volumetric VFX. Tornadoes, rings, portals and jets, built from curves and Geometry Nodes.
The product
Volute builds volumetric effects out of curves and Geometry Nodes. There is no fluid solver, no bake step and no cache on disk. Every layer is evaluated by Blender itself, which means two things you feel straight away: the viewport stays interactive while you work, and a render cannot stall waiting on a simulation.
Between two frames of an animation render, Volute runs no Python at all.
Funnel, Wedge, Column, Jet, Hourglass, Dust Devil, Ring and Portal. One generator behind all of them.
Core volume, dust grains, strands, cloudlets, debris, ground dust, spiral sheets and an emissive glow. Each independent, each switchable.
Profile rings you drag. Radius, height along the path, twist and fine adjustment, all on modifier keys.
Seven palettes that change colour and nothing else. Try Fire on a look you tuned for smoke without disturbing a density.
A finished effect moves into its own collection, keeps animating, and frees the workbench. A scene holds as many as your hardware renders.
Blender's own force fields follow the path, so cloth, hair, particles and rigid bodies react to the effect.
